Maclean Park Skatepark

The Maclean Skatepark Redevelopment in Paraparaumu designed by RICH Landscapes uses FLOW Concrete Pool Coping, Handmade FLOW Pool Tiles and a Refurbished FLOW Fire Hydrant to provide various forms of stimulus in the skate environment.

FLOW Pool Coping, made from a special concrete mix design that is strong and durable, is coloured to suit the design aesthetic where needed and sealed to pop the colours and provide more wear resistance. With its sleek surface it facilitates long grinds and slides in the Flow Bowl environment. The Handmade FLOW Pool Tiles positioned below the pool coping gives that traditional feel when skating bowl environments and were designed with mana whenua artist Kereama Taepa to intimately connect with its environment.

The Refurbished FLOW Fire Hydrant was imported from the East Coast of the USA by FLOW and is professionally cleaned, primed and coloured to suit the project where it will be located. In this instance the Hydrant was painted blue with the special paint mix and sent to Paraparaumu to be painted again by local artists, creating a bond with the community while providing a standout feature for wheeled play use.
