Hooten Reserve Skatepark Additions

Location
14 Mills Lane Albany
Completed

The Hooten Reserve Skatepark has recently been upgraded to enhance rideability, flow, and overall usability for local skaters.

The project included the installation of new concrete slabs to improve surface quality and connectivity throughout the park. In addition, the existing basketball court was honed to refresh the surface, with the hoop removed following relocation of the court within the reserve.

A key focus of the upgrade was the introduction of FLOW skate features, designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing terrain and encourage continuous movement through the space. These additions include a pole jam, a standard round rail, and a skate kerb positioned at the top of a bank, creating new lines and progression opportunities for riders of all skill levels.

The new elements complement the existing park layout while adding variety and technical challenge. Since completion, the features have already seen strong use from the community, demonstrating their immediate value and popularity.

Overall, the upgrade delivers a more dynamic and engaging skate environment, supporting both casual users and more experienced skaters.
